Purchased a Hobie 17 Sport: CCML2309F091 I should know this, but need to check anyway. CCM = Hobie Cat USA L2309 = Model (L) and serial number (2309) F = Manufacture month (June) 0 = Last digit of year manufactured 91 = Model year When was the boat built? June 1990 or June 2000 If it is a model year 1991, how could it be manufactured June 1990? (I thought, maybe it works like cars?). A logical person would say the boat is a year 2000 manufacture. Problem with that is the boomlet is pre-1995. Sail number is 4477, but at this point who knows where the sail came from. If the boat is a 1990, it's in darn good shape. Now I am wondering if the boat will weigh in at 315# or 340#. Help. |

We start building the following model year a few months early if possible. The "Model Year" starts on September 1st. Yes, 1991 model built in June 1990. "091" Middle digit is the decade. First is the build year. Last is the model year. |
