I need to replace the stretched out bungees on my TI's front hatch. The "key" wrench for removing the bungee nuts on the TI (what Hobie calls "Tool - Screw in fittings" part #71115101) doesn't appear to be long enough to reach down the inset for the bungee nuts on the front hatch. Am I missing something obvious on how to make this tool work, or do I need to fashion my own solution to replace the front bungees? (Did Hobie design the tool before they finished the TI front hatch design?) If someone has come up with a more creating solution for removing and replacing the TI front hatch bungee nuts that is better than two screwdrivers (tried that) and doesn't require welding, I would appreciate any ideas.

Thanks,
C.C.

PS - In case they changed the design in later years, this is a first year TI, so ten years old.

Never mind. I should have tried a smaller pair of needle nose pliers earlier. Worked like a charm. Fortunately, they weren't overly tight.

Dear Hobie - Please make one "bungee nut tool" that works on _all_ the bungee nuts on the boat.

Yes. Maybe you can modify the tool by cutting off the handle part? Used vise grips to turn it?
