Mark Johnson, Shaper for Hobie surfboards, SUP's and racing SUP's got together with me to shape a cool Retro fish style SUP board that was wide and thick enough to float my 218 lbs and still drive down the line with speed.
We decided to use this first short SUP board for R&D and then we will be shaping another new and improved model that will be a little more user friendly.

Riding characteristics of the 7'11 - The board rides similar to my 5'11 quad fish that I surf on. It takes a little getting used to because of the short length, you have to take off later or more in the pocket of the wave and it's not the fastest paddling machine which kind of lowers your wave count a little. But all in all it turns faster then you can think and drives down the line on steep waves as fast as a surfboard and when you hit the close out pocket, you can spray your friends 30 feet away. ha ha
