Hobie Surf Team phenom Rachael Tilly won her 2nd consecutive girl’s longboard surfing title this past weekend at the Middle School State Championships held in Oceanside. The 21 school competition boasted some of the most competitive middle school surfing teams in California. Conditions were perfect with a fresh southern hemi coughing up 4-8’ surf the entire weekend.
Rachael won the overall State long board girl’s title and helped her middle school Shore Cliffs secure the over all school title. Rachael didn’t just prove she was one of the best surfers, but also one of the smartest. She also went back to back by winning the scholarship award to the highest finalist with the highest GPA. Rachael won the award with having a 4.0 while having all advance classes.
