After having some very average weather through Winter, we had a taste of Spring at our sailing day at Googong Dam. It was a lovely warm day. The wind was very light but the breeze picked up and we managed a sail on the return leg.

The ACT Hobie Island Club sailing day is on Sunday 26 Aug at Googong Dam When: Sunday 24 August at 11:00 am (Hobie Islands on the water). I will be there around 10am to launch. Where: Googong Dam, Main Boat Ramp What to Bring: Your Hobie Island, Warm clothing, hat, sunscreen, PFD, drinking water (hot thermos), some food and VHF radio.for a sail around Canberra somewhere on Sunday 24 Aug 14 |

Thanks for sharing John. I don't know Googong Dam at all but it does look like a good spot to explore. Is camping permitted ? |

It's a nice spot for a sail, that's for sure. The gates are locked at the end of the day and opened at 8am the next morning. Unfortunately no camping is permitted. |
