Hi Everyone,

Spring is here!!! Our next ACT Hobie Island Club is on Sunday 21 September at Burrinjuck Dam.

I'll confirm the recommended launch site a day or so before the Sunday as it will depend on the water level on the day. But it will either be the main boat ramp (top centre on map) or the boat launching area (top left of map). Hopefully the water level hasn't risen too much so we can drive onto the bank and launch straight in from there. This allows you plenty of time to get set up without blocking the actual ramp for the power boaters. It also allows ample room for those that are not very experienced in trailer reversing to back down without trying to stay on the ramp - no names mentioned here :-)

As this is a State Park, there is a day entry fee of $10 to enter the park. This is paid at the visitor centre at the entry to the park and will provide a code to get through the boom gate.

This is the rough timetable for day. Apart from the "boats on the water" time, the day will be flexible to suit the conditions and what people want to do.

1000: Boats on the water ready to go in the vicinity of Burrinjuck Waters main boat ramp. (I plan to arrive around 9am to set up and launch my Adventure Island)
1000 - 1200: Sail around main basin (will check the wind on the day to decide where/direction)
1200 - 1300: Lunch at BBQ area near boat ramp
1300 - 1400: Optional after lunch sail
1400: Pack up and return home

There is an electric BBQ available at the lunch location or a short walk up the hill to the park general store where they sell burgers, pies etc. There is a number of toilets located nearby (see the map).

Nice one guys, what a cracking day!

Great shots Johnno.

Three and a bit months to go before the new boat. :-(

It's all worth it though I think.

Now, new name for boat??????????

Suggestions please. (keep em clean)

Cheers, XD

Bad time of the year to be without an AI Bob. Three months is going to take forever I bet

I thought you would stick to tradition and have Crazy Horse III?

Good to see you getting the support from others.
The dealer in Adelaide has sold 1 TI per week for 4 weeks.
I think they must be locked up in a Garage although SA is a large place.

If ya hadn't of told me that was Australia I would have thought it was one of our local lakes. Astonishing how similar it looks.
Of course, the water levels are probably 30m too high to be California right now...
