Selling my Hobie Adventure Island Sailing Kayak with Trailex aluminum trailer. $2,400. Will entertain reasonable offers Photos can be found here: https://charleston.craigslist.org/boa/d/north-charleston-hobie-adventure-island/7841679047.html Includes all the standard equipment plus kayak wheels. The good: -I upgraded the rudder control to a newer style with an OEM Hobie Kit. -The mirage drive has new fins, installed December 2024. -Sail crisp and in good shape with all battens -Garage kept most of its life -Minimal bottom wear -Trailer is very lightweight, made the drive from St Augustine to Charleston with no issue. The bad: -I do not have the original daggerboard/centerboard. I made a replacement out of 1/2 inch King Starboard. It works fine, but could use some tuning on the elastic strap tension to get it to stay in place consistently when not moving forward. -Most of the elastic bungees need replacing, still tight enough for sailing though. -Trailer supports are slightly bent/tail light cover cracked, does not affect function -Sail bag has some wear, still fully functional This is older and while not perfect, is fully functional. In heavy chop it will leak a bit from the front hatch, though I believe that to be normal and likely fixed with tighter bungees. I've taken it out on a semi regular basis, but without a garage to store and with a toddler I just don't have the time to use it anymore. Please ask any questions as I do not want to waste anyone's time or have my time wasted. I will not sell the trailer or mirage drive separate from the kayak. Asking $2,400 for everything and I can deliver within a reasonable distance (100 miles each way). If you want to pick it up in the Charleston area I can knock some money off the asking price if it's a reasonable offer.
