Is using loctite on the mirage drive mast set screws recommended? Has anyone had to back out a set screw after using loctite? |

The blue 242 works good and the screw is still removeable when necessary. |

Thanks for the help, anything that prevents a mast from slipping out on the water is a blessing. |

In my years of using Loctite and I have used a bunch(in years past 2 large bottles of red 271 per year)in some cases Loctite can be very damaging to some plastics it is a truly gr8 product and does not appear to damage the Mirage drive material. What I use is the paste not the liquid 242 its sold as a stick in a dispenser similar to a chapstick tube the benefit of this is getting the Loctite were you want it not running off everywhere else item#37643 I just put it on the threads of the bolts before install this a big improvement over the liquid. |
