Two things: - where did you find the material? - what are you using to support the stern of your kayak? Since I use the Yakima racks on my Chevrolet S10 pickup, I am looking for something to support the stern while I am loading and unloading the kayak. This should keep it from getting scraped and scratched on the parking lot asphalt or whatever. Thanks. |

G'Day Tim, We got the material from our local fabric warehouse. I'm not sure of the correct name but it is tubular and available in a variety thicknesses and diameters. Any large material shop should stock it. In the pics the kayak is supported on foldeable camping stools. To prevent 'skeg rash' I use some outdoor carpet about 4 foot long. |

stringy thanks for the information. Skeg Rash is a good term! As usual I was overthinking a solution. A small piece of carpet is high on my list. Now to find that material. Thanks again. |

stringy I found the material locally though it is open on both ends. I am goping to wait and buy it next Monday with a 40% coupon. This material is $6.99 a yard. Thanks. Roadrunner a friend says he has carpet samples so that should be good. Thanks. |
