Post subject:  Mirage Drive in Sailing Craft
Picked this up off Wooden Boat forum

Self-engineered and built ultra-lightweight strip planked hull (200kgs) with unstayed carbon mast and standing lug rig. Four oars. They also use a pedal drive as support propulsion. (Hobie Mirage Drive (TM)) You can google for the boatname and find some most interesting videos on Youtube. .They retrofitted a 140 ltr. waterballast system this year, bailing pump operated.

Anyone speak Dutch . Believe this some sort of semi cometitive class for coastal ops.

I think it is a Belgian, half of their country also speaks some sort of Dutch :)
In essence he thought the MD was a good invention, powering the boat quicker than they could using the oars, but he broke the adjustment cam, after a few strange remarks about Americans in general he says he is going to send some letters(?) to Texas(?) about this issue (TKF Forum?)
and sighs that it is a nice invention but should have been manufactured in Germany
