New V2 Sprockets - un-threaded guard screw holes?

I got some V2 sprockets (3) as parts for an upgrade a month ago. They all had threaded holes to allow the sprocket guards to be scewed on & attached.

I just got in a new pair of V2's sprockets today (thanks Matt!). The holes are drilled but obviously unthreaded.

Q. Are the sprocket guard screws (#8031451) now supposed to make thier own threads? Or was there a step missed in the manufacturing process?

I'm 100% sure, in any case, I can get these to work.

What is the thread cut for these? 3/16" x 32NF? or is it something smaller?

Don't take this as a complaint, it is both a question and a possible "heads-up" for Hobie and would-be installers of the new V2 parts.

TIA

New replacement sprockets come raw - you tap them yourself with the screw you already have - that's how its done here - we don't use a tap...just the screw itself.

Way cool & pretty much what I had surmised. Either Hobie or the Dealer was nice enough to pre-thread my 3 V2 sprockets before sending them to me - which is what raised the question.

Anyone installing new V2 sprockets might want to screw in the sprocket guard screw and start some threads before assembling. After assembly, and with the sprocket guards in place, it is easier to have some threads already started.

Question answered & no poblems - thanks :)
