I want to replace the lousy wheeleez brand wheels and tires with new wheels that have airless tires. I got two flats yesterday going across sand dunes. Maybe I can put airless tires on the wheels I have now? Any ideas? |

Pneumatic wheelbarrow wheels are better for where I live. It was suggested to me that if I got the big wheeled cart that I fill the tires with foam (I'm in rocky hill country with lots of cactus) I don't have sand here. |

When you say foam, are you talking about that construction foam that is used to fill in holes and openings? |

I didn't get the big wheels, and I haven't tried foam, seemed to me the wrong kind of foam could overexpand, causing a rupture.... Regular foam like that that hardens, I had blow out a wall once when I filled a wall with it.... blew the sheetrock off the studs .... A newer type "door and window foam" is supposed to "not overexpand" in a wall .... but it might in a soft wheel. And, I don't know a low about foams. That's just what someone suggested when I thought about buying the wheeleez tires, not sure what foam they meant though. |

Seeing your other posts and the loads likely carried by your cart... wow! The cart would be at max capacity carrying all the stuff shown in the other post, a 70-80 lb tandem, 60 lb car battery, 30 lb motor, crate and any thing else that may have been in the boat. Low pressure in the tires may also cause a pinch the tube or valve stem. I would also be careful about the scuppers themselves using a plug in cart. They are not designed to carry the boat with a full load of accessories too. There are other dolly products out there that are designed to better support a heavy hull over distance. We are currently in the final stages of development of a sling cart for the Pro Angler. This one would be a good choice for any of the kayaks. Especially when loaded with gear. |
