Check this new development out: http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/...ire/163448.htm They are in partnership with a fuel cell manufacturer NEAH in order provide green power for hulls like the Pro Angler. A methanol fuel cell will provide electric power to a motor much longer than a battery. |

The fuel cell is a longer term project. Awhile until it would come to market, but a very exciting venture! The trolling motor isn't really a "trolling motor" but an special adaptation of the Torqeedo motor system for the Hobie Mirage line. VERY, VERY cool stuff. We should be able to provide details this summer. |

Can't wait to see that. I'm considering a Torqueedo trolling motor for my power boat. |

There's a photo of one mounted to a Hobie in the Torqeedo ad on page 4 of the current (spg/sum '09) issue of Kayak Angler magazine. |

I hope it is made to fit in the drive well and therefore adaptable to any Mirage boat - I would be interested in carrying it as a backup to the Mirage drive. |

putting it in the drve well wouldnt be a very good place especially if your in shallow water along with stumps and other submerged stuff. You wouldnt be able to tilt the motor up. Im hoping it will be placed either bow or stern, that way allowing for on the fly tilting and such ![]() |
