We got our kayaks out for the first time this spring. My wife went to pick up my Revolution by the cross bar for the Side Kicks. The bar pulled out of the kayak body. Does anyone have a better way to attach the side kicks and keep the bar from rotating???? |

Sounds like you used wellnuts to mount the bar and they have pulled out. If so, try through-bolting with large washers internally under the nuts. |

I had the same problem with my wifes Revo. I fixed the problem by drilling an taping a piece of 1/8 aluminum flat stock. I made the piece long enough to allow me to hold on the end while reaching through the rear access port to get the holes to line up. Also I used nylon washers aroung the bolts to remove the play between the well nut holes and the #8 fasteners. Finaly I gooped it with 3M 4200 to seal the system. After 2 years have had no problem. During this time the boat has been sailed hard and the bar used to lift the boat. Mike |

After reading this forum, when installing the cross bar the first time, I used bolts with washers & lock nuts on the underside. I know when mounting the bar just behind the seat it is hard to reach. I didn't have any problem using a 1/4" ratchet for extra length. Bar is tight after 2 years of use. |

Both of us being short in stature, we had to borrow our brother-in-law's long arms to complete the task of new washers and nuts. It is much more secure, thanks! P. S. We did use well nuts the first time |
