Matt - Any thoughts on making a paddle extension, say about 24" long that would fit in the middle of the paddle. I'm 6'2" and think that might work in lieu of making a push pole to use on the PA when I'm in the skinny water. |

Darn good question. I never thought of an extension. I was just about to order a 274cm (9'), or probably a 295cm (9'8") paddle here http://www.wavewalk.com/Fishing_Kayak_Paddles.html Either of those would work better for lower angle paddling for us taller guys, or for kayaks with more freeboard, like the ProAngler/Outback especially with us taller guys. However, an extension to my existing Hobie Paddle would be a lot better, since I rarely use the paddle, except maybe for standup anyway. Though I have an Outback and am fairly tall, the ProAngler/Standing up/FlyFishing, and a longer paddle are like coffee and creamer. Hope they suggestion takes shape..... If not, guess I'll discard my Hobie paddle, or try to make a home made extension, or buy one above. |

This is something we are considering. Using a new fiberglass shaft and the "T" handle... removable blade on one end. |

Did anything ever come of this? I took my hobie paddle canoeing the other day and really wished I could have had the same length w/out the blade on one end. |

Never happened... Not sure if it was a time or structural concern. |

Just get an SUP paddle that sounds like it will do what you want. Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2 |
