I'm about to purchase a 2009 Revolution. I have twin 7 year olds and I'm wondering if the rear cargo area directly behind the seat is large enough to take them(one at a time, ofcourse) for a ride on my new Hobie? I've thought about getting a tandem Outfitter but just don't have the extra $$$ right now. |

Hey Darin, Looks like where both heading in the same direction. I have a 6 and 9 yr old boys, and would like to take each of them out with me on occation. I really did consider the outfitter prior to visiting my local dealer last weekend. First off he did not have one in stock, and since I had to special order it, I was going to get hit with a shipping charge or $120.00. Which the dealer was going to split with me. ![]() |

You can give a ride to a kid in the rear cargo area. Plenty big. |

Hey Lisa! I think it's funny that you posted on my topic as I replied to your topic earlier today. I have a neighbor that has a Hobie Kona which is a tandem paddler. We decided to form a Kayak Co-op. This way she'll have the use of my Revo when she wants a change and I can use her Kona when I want to take the kids out. You can actually fit 3 on the Kona. Everybody wins! I agree my kids will definately want their own kayak as soon as they get a taste of it. Especially my 12 year old. I wish you luck with your Hobie! Hope to see you out on the water. Thanks also to MMiller I appreciate your thoughts and link to the video. Now I want a dog too! |

Just a quick update for anyone interested. I took my twin 7 year olds out yesterday for 3 hour tour of a local harbor on my new Revo. One sat in the rear cargo area facing backwards and the other in the large cargo hatch facing both forward and toward the stern. It worked great but I would only suggest this in calm water. I would not want to start taking waves over the bow with the hatch open! Plan your route, watch the weather and most importantly wear PFD's! Have fun! |

I take my 9 year old on the back and my 6 year old sits on the front hatch facing me, this is in a Quest, virtually the same hull, but the kid in the front has more leg room without the Mirage Drive. The boat sits a little low, fun tho ![]() I personally wouldn't dare put them in the hatch incase of a roll and they get stuck. It's sure tipsy with all those bodies shifting around. Now if they could only sit still. Neil |
