Post subject: | New Outback - Drive Well and White Plugs |
Hi to all. Just got a new 09 Outback a few days ago and noticed a couple of things when I flipped it over for transportation. There are two white plugs aft of the Mirage Drive well opening? What are these? They are about 6 inches apart. See picture below. (I just noticed the red wasp in this picture and wondered what stirring a nest up while underway would be like lol) ![]() Also noticed some abrasion along the bottom of the drive well, especially along the port side. It looks like this area is routed / filed down. Is this normal and something they do during manufacture? There is a definite seam in this area all the way around the drive well. ![]() Any information on this will be much appreciated. |

The white plugs are just small caps that we install for cosmetic reasons over the insert that builds the structure to the front of the drive well - and the base of the sail / accessory mount. Yes the boat is hand trimmed around the mold parting line in the drive well - as well as in each scupper and the outer edge of the hull as well...all normal. |
