I have a 2008 outback and a 2009 revo. I am wondering if there is some sort of rudder protector you can make or is sold to help in loading these on top of a rach. Especially with the outback it seems easiest to rest the hull against the rack with the stern on the ground and then pick up the stern and slide it up onto the rack. I have a Tahoe with the Yakima roller that extends back and then saddles on the top. This is a great setup for loading and carrying but the outback espcially is so awkward to load I can not seem to keep from having the stern on the ground which in turn the rudder is on the ground and I am worried about damage to it. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Simple solution is to lift the stern first. |

Since Matt's suggestion not a good option for me, I use a piece of a soft mat for sports or yoga (sorry don't know the proper name). It is soft and not slippery at all. Works great! Hardest part is to put it on the right place when unloading... |
