is the front compartment meant as an ice chest? if so, the ice melts way too fast with no insulation........those of you with PA's, what do you use the front compartment for?

Good morning.
With regard to from compartment, mine is used for all those things I want to take with me when i go out, like my dry bag, and extra fishing lures, just stowage. I don't think it was ever meant as an ice chest, as you mentioned, it has no insulation.

I took some of that foil covered bubble wrap from lowes and wrapped the bottom of the insert with it.
then used duct tape to keep it on.
you can glue it to the insert too.
then i cut out a piece and placed it on the inside of the "COFFIN LID" and checked for fit.
i also did the auto weatherstripping thing on the gasket while i was there.
keeps 20# of ice and beverages cold all day in the sun.
probably a better way to do it,but i'm a cheapskate!!!!
