The cord attaching my Bow carry handle has frayed.
Can you replace the cord on the handle (in other words, can you open up the handle and easily put it back together?)or do you need to order an entirely new handle?

I think the current handles are molded and cannot be reused. Hobie used to use a hollow PVC handle though that was re-cordable. You can make one with 1/2" schedule 80 (for gray) or schedule 40 (for white).

--Trim your PVC to length (about 4")
--Round off the edges with a file or sandpaper
--Drill a hole in the middle just large enough for your new lines to pass through
--Pull the lines through and tie the ends together in with a simple knot
--Stuff the knot back in the tube

Below left is a pic of our first Hobie tandem with original handle -- worked great! On right is a similar "T" handle that was easily made to haul a ballast tube.

Or you can buy a new molded handle for about $10. 8)

Thanks Roadrunner.
It didn't look like the Hobie handle could be taken apart to replace the cord but I have been able to do that with my old Ocean Kayak so I thought I would ask here first.
The Hobie handle is so nice it seems a shame to throw it away (or buy a whole new one) simply because of frayed cord but oh well...

It looks like mine might come apart. There are two holes underneath. I would try to take it apart if the line was broken. Try hammering two dowels or punches into the holes and see if the top pops out. A second choice would be to drill about a 1/2 inch hole in the top till you got to the string. Then remove the string insert a new one and tie a knot which would slip back into the hole. Nothing lost by trying.

You can not disassemble them. The line pass through a small stainless fitting that is molded into the handle.
