Post subject: | Problem with Mirage drives |
The shafts that connect the pedals to the actual drive can be adjusted for different length kayakers. This is done by pulling a pin that fixes the position of the arm to one of several holes on the drive. My older Mirage has a spring loaded pin set in a u-shaped clip that holds the pedal shaft securely to the drive. I've lost a couple of these clips, so the pedal without the clip doesn't help with any of the work. I am looking for replacement pins. The current parts catalogue shows a pedal adjustment assembly that looks different from what I have. Does anyone know if this new assembly with work on older models and similarly does anyone know if the older clips are still available and where to get them? Thanks |

The current system will work on an older drive. The original spring clips are no longer available. You can also use a simple bolt and nut if not doing a lot of adjusting. Some prefer that way as it makes a tighter connection. |

Thanks, MM. I've used a shackle pin, but it fell out and it's nice to know that the new clips they sell will work ok with my old drives. |
