I know this is a long shot, but I'm heading up to Old Orchard Beach Maine for the next couple of weeks, and I want to bring along my Oasis. Does anybody know if one is allowed to port a kayak onto the beach and launch it from the beach? How can I possibly find out if this is allowed before my arrival? Any suggestions? Thanks for any help. Steve |

Just answering my own question for those who may want to know in the future: I called the Old Orchard Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Town Hall Recreation Dept, and the Fire Chief (who is responsible for the Life Guard program). Surprisingly, all three offices said "YES" it is no problem to launch and use a kayak from Old Orchard Beach. Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but I can guarantee that somebody will try to stop me when I actually give this a shot. |
