I've had some difficulties with the Twist-n-Stow rudder on my Revo. One of the issues was during a back troll while halibut fishing. One of the rudder control cables "jumped the track" and became inoperable. Back at home investigation through the rear hatch revealed that a pad-eye attached by one end to a hatch screw was the method the assemblers used to guide the rudder control cables. When the cable jumped out of the half-attached pad-eye, the slack introduced rendered the rudder in-op. I don't know whether this is the standard Hobie rudder cable guide, but I suggest replacing these things as shown below. Here is a photo of the pad-eye from the inside, and a photo of my replacement solution. ![]() ![]() |

I have a revo too. I had the dealer upgrade mine to the up/down levers. It looks like your setup. I zip tie the cables just enough to prevent them from becoming loose. |

The plastic pipe clamps are much cheaper than the pad-eyes. You have to wonder what Hobie was thinking. I am still not sure a half-attached pad-eye is part of the standard design. |
