Post subject: | Broken Trolley Scupper Holes |
I have just baught a secondhand blue Kona to set up as a fishing kayak. Both trolley scupper holes are cracked, as someone has stood in the kayak while it was on the trolley. I was thinking about putting a slieve around the scupper, or, perhaps just covering the top and bottom opening so it is totally sealed. Is there a prefered method of repairing this, or have I just wasted my money? Help please.... |

I have read that you can split a length of PVC pipe and then cement the halves around the scupper tube inside the hull. Don't know what the best cement to use would be but I do know that you will need to sand the scupper to both clean and roughen the surface for the glue to bond. Hope this helps. |

Bozzie, Roadrunner has reported successful repairs using Scotchweld DP8010. A search for his posts will yield a lot of info such as viewtopic.php?f=11&t=11245 |
