Maybe Matt could answer this question. The dealer I bought my Hobie kayak from is part of a franchise and the whole lot maybe closing down. Could you please tell where I would go for any warranty services that may come up in this case?..Especially if this dealer was the only dealer in the state that sold Hobie kayaks...

Thanks..

Next closest dealer I'd guess. Where are you located?

Seasonal issues I hope. Hard to understand dealers closing when our sales are though the roof. Factory production is sold out into December.

It is a tough time in the economy though. Recovery after a long lull drains capitol and makes it hard for business to fill the shelves for the increasing sales trends we are now seeing.

My dealer said there was plenty of foot traffic but nobody was buying. He still has nearly all the boats that he got from hobie back in late 09.

Some guys just don't know how to sell. What else can you say?

Believe it or not i dont think people around here are familiar with hobies.Kayaking is almost non existant around here even though we are right on the intercoastal waterway and ocean.IMO hobies sell themselves.

That is just it. The dealer has not gotten enough people on the water through demos or what not. Once they get seen... they sell. They may be a more traditional paddle shop and not really understand the benefits themselves. Again and again we are seeing other dealers transformed into success through the Hobie line. It works. Email me the dealers name so we can get our regional sales reps there to offer training if necessary.
