Hi all, Has anyone towed a mirage drive kayak behind their boat? I am concerned about the mirage drive opening causeing drag or a roostertail or impeding the ability to tow. I am interested in doing a mothership and either transport on my boat or daisy chain behind it. I do not want to do any damage to the kayak by towing it. my boat is a Proline 20' walk around cuddy and I may be able to carry the revolutions inside the rail alongside the cabin but seeing the revos are 13'-6" and my boat is only 20 foot carrying them on the boat may not be so easy. Would be great to get way out on the flats with them. Maybe Matt has some input on this. Revo |

what about straped down bottom up sideways across the stern on top of the boats gunnels |

I would not tow a kayak at speed behind a power boat. You risk damage to the bow eye I'd think. Carry onboard if possible. There are racks made that could hang it outside the life lines or rail if you can not get inside the rail. I've seen them on bigger sailboats. |

On board is my first choice. I saw on Kayak Fishing Show a guy daisy chained several yaks via a line through bow eyelet to stern eyelet then on to another and another and another till chained 5 yaks. I am not looking to do that but it sparked the idea of a spreader bar and my two kayaks. But the kayaks on the show were Ocean Kayaks and no Mirage drive well. I do not think towing with a hole in the hull would work. I may be able to drop the stern of the revolution on the floor ahead of my rear seats and let the bow rest on the walk aside the cabin. That will block my gunnel but can enter boat at rear seat and still reach the bow through the hatch.. I will look into racks also. Just would hate to dock and sandwich my kayak between boat and dock .. that would scratch one kayak. We get some very low tides. Exploring OPTIONS Revo |

I've seen guides out of Chokoloskee carrying as many as six on board stacked athwartship at the stern. Don't know how they were secured but it shouldn't be too hard to do... |
