Well I have had the itch for a while. I spent the last 5yrs fishing just about all the redfish tours that were going on and one by one they went away except the IFA. Needless to say I kinda got burnt out with gas, boat pmt, insurance and maintinance of a boat so I sold it. However still have the need to fish and fish for my beloved redfish than like luck would have it the IFA has a kayak tour ![]() Chad Skeeles P.S. Any inshore pointers from a kayak are always welcome here I love learning new tricks! Thanks Again |

Welcome. If you haven't already check out past post in the Fishing Forum. Lots of information on rigging. Depending on what type of bottom you are fishing learn to flutter the fins to protect them on oyster bars and shallow rocks. I put a little gorilla tape on the leading edge of the fins about two inches from the bottom to protect them. I did the same thing as you switching from a flats boat to the kayak. Started with a shorter rod thinking it would be better. Ended up with a 7 footer. It worked a lots better for me. It seems to work better for me to wear a darker shirt than a white on as you are closer to the fish. Largest hat you can find. Use the fish cooler/bag for the beer cooler. That way it is loaded each way. Enjoy |
