I always love fishing on my outback. Problem is that my shoes is always getting wet and always touching the water around the mirage well. Finally, I decided to do this project called "dry deck". Looks like a nice fix for your problem. Is it strong enough to stand on? For me I have a lots of uses for a little sloshing water around the drive well. Splashing water on the head, feet, and butt help wash off the fish guts and keep the blood from hardening on my shirt and pants. On one occasion I had several shrimp come up through the well. Getting dirty and wet is in the Dictionary as the definition of Kayak Fishing. |

It's all about preference. I prefer not to get wet since I only do freshwater fishing at the moment but I'm sure that I will be saltwater fishing in the future. In reference to the material, it's made of plywood and rubber mat. The only challenge would be the measuring of the hull. After that, it's all elementary. |

Thanks for that info. I like to stay dry myself, you would of loved the Pro angler if you like staying dry, but i like my outback also. |

I like the concept for the winter months. The metal latches are a short term use. How often do you think you will need to replace them? thanks |

I've used it a couple of times and it keeps me dry. I also lube the latch after use and so far so good. Luckily, latches are only 2.69 for a pair at home depot. |
