The 2010 Outback I bought yesterday was left stored on a Hobie scupper cart. 2 questions. 1st question: what can I do to get the small dent out of the bottom of the kayak where the center was laying on the carts cross bar? 2nd question: When you insert the cart into the scupper holes and lower the kayak onto the cart how far should the posts stick through the kayak? |

Only repeating things here, but heat, such as towel heated, sun. Stuff like that for the dent. It should come back. It would be ideal if the posts came all the way through and out the top so they're not flopping around inside the thinner extrusion of the scupper tube. There's been a lot of damage in that area caused by carts not fully inserted and then stressed while rolling them from their sides to on wheels and puncturing or fracturing the scupper tube. Someone else will chime in with more I'm sure. That's my take on it. I also might add I'd not be too worried about that dent, just don't add to it. |
