Common flotation-dry bags are skinny triangles with the water and air tight closure, and inflation tube, at the wide end, not the pointy end. This works well for areas where pointy end goes in a hatch first and is deployed toward the bow because that puts the closure and inflation tube near the hatch; you put the bag through the hatch, gear into the bag through its closure, close the bag, and blow into the inflation tube to inflate it. However, in the Hobie Adventure the aft hatch is near where the pointy end of the bag fits, meaning the closure and inflation tube are not accessible through the aft hatch for loading gear into the bag or inflating it. I cannot find a floation / dry bag with its closure and inflation tube near the pointy end. Help? |

So far my work-around is small float-dry bags like the split Wildwassers. |

dwest, I have been enjoying using the Sea-to-Summit dry sacks. The lightwieght fabric goes into the narrow rear hatch much more easily than the typical heavy duty bags. The larger bags, filled w/less, are much more pliable and fit through the 8" hatch more easily and conform to the inner spaces well. http://www.seatosummit.com/products/display/15 |

I use the same drybags, but after a number of leak experiences I now put them inside floatation;storage bags which are much beefier, |
