I want to winch my Hobie Oasis to the roof of my garage for storage, can anyone tell me if it is possible to use the front and rear carry handle mounts to attach the pickup hooks. |

Don't do it! I remember reading somewhere that those handles should only be used for carrying the Kayak as they are not designed to support the boat for long term storage. A few months ago there was a series of photos showing how folks winched their boats up to the ceilings of their garages. Most store the boat with the bottom facing up as the strongest points on the boat for storage are the gunnels. The boat can also be stored on it's side. Check this out before you do something that might deform the boat. Personally, I'd rather be safe than sorry by finding things out the hard way. Good Luck!! - Roger |
