I am purchasing the Evolve. However, I would like to order a spare battery. Question 1, How does the battery mount? 2, I have gps on my fishfinder, are there batteries designed just for powering the motor? |

The eVolve batteries are not designed to power anything but the motors. The software interacts with the battery so much... it would cause issues to power other hardware. The voltage is also too high for Fish Finders I understand. The battery sits in a bag which is simply hooked to something inside the hull. |

You recommend keeping the battery in a bag? Aren't they completely sealed and waterproof? Just wondering if I should buy drybags for my 2 evolve batteries. |

I called Hobie. They said you cannot run both motor and fish finder on the Evolve battery together. I already assumed that. But they did say running your fish finder on it's own battery and running Evolve on it's own battery is fine. Their GPS is not a chart plotting device, it's only to display power available from start to return point, depending on your selected speeds. Their battery comes standard with a battery dry bag. |

The batteries are sealed. The bag we provide is to make carrying to and from the boat... and mounting inside the hull easier. |
