Anyone know if minn kota or motorguide make a trolling motor that has a lower unit (the bottom part of the motor) that's 3" or less in diameter and more than 28lb of thrust? I'm trying to make something like this for my Oasis:

I had to use the same unit. I tried the minn-Kota unit and could not get the head to pass through the Mirage drive space.

It was "borrowed" last summer by a friend sorry. I used a 18lb thrust White Snake which I shortened the shaft. I turned the head aroung and used two stainless steel plates and hardware. It took maybe thirty minutes and a few parts with the mirage drice cassette. Honestly I used it a couple of times and with the battery weight and extra complexity along with the fact I fish mainly in the shallow marsh I foung the Mirage Drive a better option. It pulled the Kayak fast enough but when you hit shallow water you need to take it out and store it in deck. Good luck with the project. I hope if you use the White Snake product there is a facility nearby to fix it. I have had no issues, but there are few dealers.
