We have two Outbacks (2008 & 2009) and are trying to find a way to install new padeyes for the straps that are farther outboard on each side to stop the straps from rubbing on our thighs when we pedal. I searched the forums in many ways but did not see this type of modification discussed. Has anyone else had this "rubbing" problem and how did you modify the padeyes to correct it? I would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. |

I have the same problem in my AI with the seat in the far back position, but not if in the front peg holes. I've considered covering the straps with something smoother (fabric?) or replacing the straps with something less abrasive (line?) |

All I did was drop a solid plastic seat in the canvas seat. This spreads the straps out a little more and does not rub on my hips. The seat is one piece with seat and back rigid with a little flex but not much. Helps my back too and the seat is much more comfortable for long days of fishing. Good Luck. |

Where did you get the seat? Can you post a link? I would really like to see a picture of that you did if you could post one. Thanks! |
