Hello, there is good the Vaseline (paraffin liquidates), to lubricate the metals of the kayak and the mirage drive?. Is it possible to apply Vaseline to him to the polyethylene of the kayak? Gracias [email protected] |

Hi there Rebol13. I do not think that Vaseline would be a good idea because it is likely to get very messy and will probably attract sand and grit. Most people use WD40 or CRC lubricants for the Mirage drive and hatch hinges and silicone spray or similar products for the o-rings in the hatches. The metal components on the Hobie kayaks are all marine grade stainless steel as far as I can tell. This should not rust as long as it gets enough air around it so there should be no need to rust-proof it in most cases. My guess is that English is not your first language ?! Where are you based ? |
