I’m considering a purchase of Hobie Revolution 13.5 for a local dealer

There seems to be a lot of products that have been sitting around for some time

According to the Forums, Hobie is constantly making improvements/modifications to the following:

How do I make sure I’m getting the most current year model of the Revolution hull and all of the features?

How do I make sure I’m getting the most current version of the Mirage Drive?

What is the current version of Mirage Drive drums, chains, sprockets, shafts, etc?

Thanks, John

The simplest way would be to ask the dealer if you're getting a 2011 model.

As far as getting the newest Mirage Drive, you'll get it. The older version hasn't been sold for YEARS! You could also check the serial number. There's a section there which indicates the year. For something like a Revolution, it hasn't changed much in the past couple of years, so just make sure that the seat has a self inflating backrest, and expandable plugs to hold the seat in place. Also check to make sure the pedals have a small pad on them, so that the last 1/8th of an inch of the pedal is squishy (where you put your foot) The 2009 models didn't have padded pedals, but newer models did. If you're getting all of those features, then it's very likely the newest model. As long as you buy it new from the dealer, you'll still have the warranty no matter how old it is.

I think that most dealers are like my dealer. They don't have a lot of older stock sitting around. I'm sure a few do, but I'd say it's the minority, not the majority.

It's not like the older models had any sort of problems. Granted, there have been some refinements along the way, but my 2005 Outback is every bit as good (in some ways better) than my 2010 PA and 2011 Revolution.

Buy it and go have some fun.

I just purchased a revo a last month and I love it. My dealer would allow 10% off any accessories at time of purchase. I suggest the st turbo fin, well seal, and a dodger.Keep in mind that there is a 11ft. revo available.
