Post subject:  modifying 2008 revo twist and stow to except evolve motor
It is my understanding that my 2008 revo has to be updated to the new twist and stow system for the evolve motor to be mounted on the rudder. Is this an expensive modification and how is it done. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to buy the evolve in the next two months if i can clear up these snags first. Thanks in advance

I could be wrong, but I think it mounts on any Twist N Stow. Here's an '09 Outback with the rudder mount:

The TnS rudder hasn't changed; only the attachment to the boat. Rudders are all interchangeable. The evolve rudder mount installs just like any rudder. Who told you otherwise? 8)

You did!On a post dated Nov. 8, 2009..1:19a.m....I think there has been a misunderstanding. I am referring to the old up and down line system with the lever...that's what i have...not the current T-handle type. I appreciate all the research you put into the evolve. Am i correct in assuming i need the the current t-handle up/down line system and if so is it an easy fix?

Ah yes. I think you would get the "rudder up/down line kit". It retails for about $89. It was specifically designed for the Adventure but will adapt to any TnS rudder. It requires drilling a few holes and takes about 2 + hours for most people to do it the first time. I would rate the degree of difficulty as medium, not difficult. If you buy the up/down line kit, I would happily buy your lever system, if you're interested in selling it.

Tom, I'm keeping the old kit for spare parts for my 2007 outback.
