Post subject:  Scotty Clamp Mount - will it work with a Revo?
Hi guys, I got to normal mounts installed just ahead of the cables you pull to lower and retract the rudder on a Revo, but I just installed my fishfinder and I been using the left mount for it, and I want to use that one for a rod mount.

So I wanted to get one of these clamp mounts and place it further to the front of the kayak, but I'm worried that the clamp wont grab due to the angle of the foot rest.

Here is how I am using my Fish finder now, in the red where I would like to place the clam mount.

On my Revo I found it helps to get the rods outside the boat - easy to reach but keeps the rod butts out of the area where your feet operate the pedals.

These are RAM mounts with modified tubes.

My guess is that you could swivel, adjust, etc. such a set up to work around your depth finder in the position you indicate.

I was also thinking that I could just stick one of these in my current mount, but I don't know how wide these are and if they'll ge tin the way of my pedals.

If the rod butts extend inside the hull, most likely they're going to interfere with the Mirage Drive. The Revo is quite narrow in that area and you don't have room to accommodate the rod butts extending inside the gunwhales.

scotty deck mount with gear head extender works perfect for this area. Keeps rods outside the boat so as to not interfere with the Mirage and can also bring the rod closer for easy access. Very adjustable. However, it is not heavy enough for big rod trolling. Perfect for light tackle.

By light , do you mean maybe 12 lbs line with a medium heavy rod? I was thinking about using the triple mount and then the gear head extender
