when do the new year models come out? for example, 2012 revo. is it out and does another update for same year come out later or just once? |

New model year starts in September, so 2012 models were introduced on September 1st. |

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 2012 revos are the first to have the Hobie logo badge on the front hatch cover. By 'badge', I don't mean the decal, but an actual embossed round thingy. (and it may actually be forward of the hatch cover.) |

Correct. The badges are new for 2012 on most models. The Pro Angler had one already. |

Mine had a stick-on badge - it wasn't inset into the hull, just stuck on. Not a decal, but a thick little badge. It lasted one trip. |

No recess. Badge was small, about a dime size in diameter, and thick. Clear over black emblem. Thanks for the offer, but it's not something that I'll miss - it doesn't exactly do anything - anybody that sees the boat knows it's a Hobie from the large logo emblazened on the side, not mention that when somebody sees you pedaling, I think they sort of know it's one of those unique Hobie craft. |

Is there any reason for the new badge? Does it cost any less than the older decal? I personally think the badge looks a bit cheap and nasty and lacks the style of the decal... |

I have a 2012 Revo 13 and don't think I have the recessed badge. I got mine in Oct. |
