Post subject:  Fitting the newer steering control lever

I have a Revo 13 (outstanding kayak by the way) which has the older, black steering control.
This is poorly cleaned up, having several abrasive ridges from molding, a raised sharp edge around vertical screw fixing hole and is altogether annoying to use after several hours.
I began the process of removing it to sand off the offending defects, but got to thinking I would rather fit the newer version (Grey on Grey) which has the added advantage of having an optional Knob on top for better control.
Can this item be fitted to the older steering shaft?
The fixing is directly down into the shaft rather than vertically into the side.

You need the new shaft for the new handle. We had a few posts on the subject awhile back. I'll have a look...

I decided to "clean up" the original black lever.
I removed the handle and ,using the trusty Festo orbital, removed all the casting ridges, starting with 150 grit all the way up to 4000 pads.

Smooooooooth.
