2011 Oasis foam question

Post subject:  2011 Oasis foam question
Hello, I purchased a used Oasis. It has three pieces of foam.

One is located on the right side with the front edge just at the back of the front hatch and it's wedged up nice and tight along the top side of the hull. There is not a matching one on the left side. Is there supposed to be? :?:

The other two pieces are loose in the back half of the craft. They both have rectangular shaped front ends and both are tapered on the rear ends. Where are these supposed go? :?:

I will have to check my 2011 Oasis when I get home. I have not gone looking for it but I know there is some floatation foam in there somewhere. it sounds like the foam in yours may have gotten knocked lose. The point of the foam is if your craft was totally flooded inside and out it will still stay on the surface (barely). Where the foam goes is not critical as long as there is some in the front and the back and it is securely attached. Maybe someone more savy with mods can suggest a way to glue it down.

I took a quick look a the manual and didn't find anything for it. I wasn't sure where to wedge the two loose pieces towards the back-end -- I was wanting to make sure that I didn't interfere with the rudder and controls...
I was also curios if there was supposed to be two pieces up front.

Is it not packing foam from when the boat was first delivered ?

I'm not sure if it's packing foam, I bought it used (it was a demo). I guess I will try calling a factory rep.

It's flotation, now installed in all the kayaks. It's not glued, but wedged in and in your case, has come loose. I'll try to grab a photo of where it goes this week if no one has a picture for you in the meantime. 8)

Two in the rear half between the aft seat, and jammed into the rod holder; one each side tucked high. Stay outboard of any lines and cables.

One in the front half, forward of front seat from large bottle holder forward, wedged in to side rails(?) Not pictured.

One of mine had worked loose. Just tuck them in the best you can so they aren't drifting around the interior. 8)

I think they're there to provide extra rigidity to the sides of the yak... and maybe some floatation in case it fill up with water (?)
