Hello Kepnutz - We are in the same neighborhood. We just bought two Adventures and get the same questions and comments when we're out there. Although the Mirage drive has been around for a while, the masses haven't really seen it yet. When they do, hopefully more people will buy Hobie 'yaks than PWC's! (we could only hope). Gotta hand it to Hobie for innovation! (I was also a H16 sailor).

How was Tomales? Where did you launch? So far, we've only been on the local lakes (Natoma, Folsom, etc.) with our Adventures. We thought about Tomales last weekend when it was 111 degrees in Sacramento!.

Where I live we fish mainly shallow flats 3-5ft so theres not many mirage drive Yaks around. You should see the looks I get when pass some of these guys in "regular" yaks.
Plus I can take it out to deep oil-rig platforms in the Gulf Of Mexico & fish also. Love it.

I'll try to post some pics here.. Sorry in advance if I screw it up however the FAQ sections on photo posting is leaving me with some questions like.. Why is it so complicated to post an image..? Anyway here goes..

Thanks for the photos kepnutz! It looks very nice at Tomales. Also, thanks for the tips on the launching spot and tide. I'll look for you on the local lakes (Folsom, Natomas) and maybe beyond (Sierra, Tahoe, Tomales, etc.).

Understand that. Takes a little practice also to get the hang of it. Can try in a "test" forum till you you get it down.
