Post subject:  Revolution Fully Fitted!
Here are a few shots of the Revolution that was shown at the recent Outdoor Retailer Show. This is a FULLY outfitted version.

Here is a cool new feature. The "Gear Bucket" (Tackle box) can be inserted into the 8" twist and seal hatches. It has a lid that fits like Tuperware. You can slip the whole box down into the hull or hang on the lip as shown. This will be available as an accessory soon.

Here is a sneak preview of a prototype bait tank we are working on. This will be custom fit, fully rigged and ready to drop into Hobie Mirage aft cargo areas. Complete with pump and battery, water pickup and drain fit into scuppers. This is not quite "there" yet. This is a fiberglass concept at this point.

:D Thanks for the pics, Matt. I am sure you are exhausted by now. Everyone really appreciates the extra effort you put in to keep us informed. :!:

I have been curious how well the Adventure Island pedals with amas extended or retracted. I assume with the added weight of all the hardware and the additional wetted surface of the amas that there will be a little more drag when pedaling.

Anyone care to comment?

Wow, what a dream machine. I see that outriggers are indeed an option for this new product. I had questioned whether or not they were available in another post, so this picture answers at least that question. How is the stability compared with the Mirage? I would assume it's a bit less stable, being that it is more narrow than the Mirage.

The first 4 pics are the new Revolution. The last picture is the new Adventure Island (has the outriggers). You can now get a small set of amas for any of the Hobies though. It is called " Sidekick" and has received excellent reviews.

The Revolution is every bit as stable as the Mirage Classic using a much different hull design. It also has less hull slap; much more buoyancy. Great cockpit layout! I got to try one last weekend -- beautiful boat -- so many improvements over the good old Classic! 8)

MatO,

The Mirage Classic was originally called the Mirage when there were no other models. Now the term Mirage generally refers to the drive unit.

So if by "Mirage" you mean Outback, I can't comment on relative stability. But I can say you'd have to try to capsize the Revolution to be successful. With the "sidekick" you could easily stand and fish if you want to. You can adjust the height of the "amas" for full water contact for maximum stability or minimal contact for less drag while pedaling.

I really like that compass mounted on the forward hatch. What kind is it, and how did they install it without compromising the hatch integrity? :?

Very kewl pix and lots of good ideas
Just a question regarding pic # 1
It seems to show a flashlight mounted on the front - port side of the yak. Is it me or is half the mounting not attached ? Thanks

WOW! What a setup, but there HAS to be a way to mount at least 1 more rod holder somewhere......LOL just kidding...looks great and I'm salivating.

Matt, any update on the SS sprocketts you talked about last month? And will this have the stainless mast steps too?

I've got a question: In the first pic it looks like there is an anchor trolley kit running under the paddle holders on the side of the boat. Is that a pulley or something to keep the line below it?

Also do you guys know how close to the bow and stern I should mount my padeyes? I'm having a tough time deciding...

No news on stainless sprockets. Yes, they are all stainless including the mast hole.

The anchor trolley shown has small plastic clips the line runs through.

As a kayaking newbie and not knowing alot about mountings.
What mountings were used to mount the following in the pics:
fishfinder
2 forward rod holders
vhf radio holder
