Post subject: | Unplanned turns to left in Mirage Outback SUV on flat water |
I just bought a brand new Mirage Outback (yellow) for my wife's birthday. She is having a great deal of trouble keeping the kayak on track. It continues to try turning left all the time. We have not yet installed the pedal drive system. I wanted her to get the feel of normal paddaling before anything else. I demonstrated to her the effect of back paddaling and normal turning. This is very strange and I have noticed several persons on the forum boards have experienced the same thing. A well made and balanced kayak should run true with very little effort. Hobie must certainly be aware of this and have an answer.......how about sharing it with us! thanks. diane [email protected] ![]() |

Turns left? There is very little that can be wrong. The hull may have a depression on one side? Asymetrical shape? Too much weight forward? The Outback is not the best boat for paddling. Put the drive in and use the rudder. This is so much much easier than paddling. If there is still a problem, see your dealer. |
