Thanks to this forum I am buying demo Oasis. I have a Yakima round bar rack on my roof and would like to know which Yakima mounts to buy for this kayak. Any input is helpful, thanks. Pete

I use Mako saddles and hully rollers since I load my boats from the rear of the vehicle, but I may remove them and just press them up there and strap them upside down while I physically can.

I have the same Yakima bars and use the Evenkeel #04052 mounts. BTW, have Oasis also with the setup on 2012 Cad SRX.

I used the Yakima Bowdowns on our Yakima Rack and Roll for over a year. They can be pretty bothersome as they tend to rotate on the round bar when they are not fully/properly secured. There are a lot of good things about the Bowdowns but, for this one reason, I would not buy them again for use on a round bar.

I only use pads on my Yakima Roof Rack and they work great. Originally, I did by and install a Yakima BoatLoader, but I don't even use it. With my rig, it's easier for me to load my Oasis from the back, push her forward, and strap her down.

To secure her, I usually only use my bar straps. However, if I'm traveling a long distance (200+ miles one way), I'll also attach a bow and stern line to see if the boat is shifting while on the road.
