I presently transport my Hobie Revolution 13 with foam blocks but got a good deal on Malone J-Style carriers AutoLoaderâ„¢ MPG106MD http://www.maloneautoracks.com/autoloader.php I was wondering if it safe and secure transporting the Hobie Revolution 13 with J-style carrier? Lots of folks say it safer using saddle/v style carrier I would like to know you guys experience with this? Thanks Shawn |

Shawn, I used j-racks, Thule and Yakima rear loaders, rollers, and saddles with my other kayaks that do not have rigid handles like Hobies do. Once I got my revos, I realized I could lift them up easier vs. my other boats. However, I added a nylon/rubber kayak handle in front of the middle hatch, and another on the raised backrest of the seatwell. No I just get in a bench squat position, curl the boat up and press them overhead, and leave it upside down on bare Thule racks. 2 tiedowns, as well as bow and stern tiedown holds perfectly and lightens the load on the racks. |
