After installing the sailing rudder I am having issues where the rudder gets stuck in the left position. This happened in some serious current and chop. I'm lucky nothing bad happened. I haven't tried to fix it yet but would like to know if anyone has experienced the same problem? When it is not stuck it will not turn right very well at all but turns left on a dime. Basically the opposite problem zoolander had..... |

A: Be sure the rudder is locked down using the T handle rope in the cleat. B: check that it is not catching on the transom contour. The part protruding forward "could" catch on the transom I suppose. Especially on an inflatable hull... |

Tried working on it this afternoon. I found that I could turn the rudder with my hand but not with the steerer. I am sure it is getting caught but can't figure out where. Can you guy's give me any more ideas where it could be getting caught in a little more detail, I don't know what any of the internal components names are. Sucks that it is so hard to see inside the hull to do a fix. I spoke with the dealer who said he would look at it but he is a half hour away and I'd rather fix it myself..... |

Checked it again and I can't feel it being caught on anything. Will have to bring to the dealer..... |

Check inside the hull for obstructions catching on the control arm below the steering handle... lines twisted or hung up. |

It seems to be working better. I'm going to take it out in some protected water before I go anywhere with too much current and waves. Hopefully it passes the test. |

The screw under the steering /hand control had loosened a fraction and left turns it caught , so just make sure its tightened |
