| Post subject: | Seat heights of the 2015 Revolution and Outback |
How does the height of the seat bottom in the 2015 Revolution and Outback compare to the height of the seat bottom in the 2014 Revolution and Outback? By "height of the seat bottom" I mean the distance between the kayaker's rear end and the keel of the kayak. |

The intended positions are the same (2014 vs 2015 / same models)... in the CT's lowest setting. Thats why we had to lower the floors. |

I am a long time whitewater kayaker and a fishing kayaker, and I believe that the seat of a kayak should be as low as feasible in order to maximize the stability of the kayak. I don't like the elevated seats found on many fishing kayaks, and was afraid that Hobie might have compromised the stability of the 2015 Revolution and Outback by raising the level of their seats. |

What feels most comfortable to me when pedaling longer distance in my 2015 Revo 13 is raising the front of the seat and keeping the rear low. The low center of gravity remains unchanged and it supports your thighs more and takes some pressure off of your glutes and lower back. |

With lowering the floor to accommodate the new seat,would the gear bucket still fit if I install the rectangular hatch? |

Wish I knew how to post a picture.I have installed on my 2013 Outback the rectangular hatch with the gear bucket.Fits fine.Plus it is great for stuffing all kinds of gear in the hull.We do a lot of river camping trips and I was surprised how much stuff I could pack into the Outback.The bucket keeps all the essentials handy as well. |

Did installing the rectangular hatch and gear bucket affect the ability to stand in the outback? I have a 2014 outback and I want to install the rectangular hatch but if I can't use the bucket, there's no point in it for me. I would never use the tackle management system/tray.
