Damaged mine . How don't ask. Anyway replacing the tube? Receptacle for the mast? Whatever the name is. Some questions: 1. What s the spare part number? Can't find one. 2. How do you replace it? Does it have something to do with the white plastic nut imbedded in the bottom of the hull? |

The mast receiver tube threads into the deck area and rests over a "nub" down inside the hull (Yes, opposite that screw on the underside). Fit a long blade (large flat blade) down inside the mast receiver. Simply unscrew from the hull. Check the length (they vary and the part is one length for all, custom cut) of the damaged part and cut the new one to the correct length. Screw back into the hull seeing that the base of the part fits over the "nub" in the keel. Part is # 84550001 $3.50 List |

Part was ordered on a Monday, arrived the next Tuesday 8 calendar days. That's good drop ship service direct to the customer. Hope Hobie keeps that procedure for future ops. I didn't have a long enough screw driver blade but the new piece can be replaced by inserting to the screw in section, grasping firmly inside and screwing in by hand. Due to damage the old piece removal required some operating surgery with a pair of vice grips. BTW don't throw the old one away. You can use it to measure how much to cut off the new part. For my Adventure it was one section. A vice came in handy for this using a hacksaw. |
