Post subject:  Turbo fin adjustment nut - how to stay in one position?

Hi;
I find that the adjustment nut on my turbo fins loosens as I use the drive. I like to keep the fins fairly firm. I thought I remembered a post where someone suggested putting locktight on the threads. Can't find it. islocktight permanent? If so, does anyone have a less permanent solution to keep the fins at the setting i choose? Some way to make the adjustment stay in place? Does anyone else have this problem?

I had the same problem. The nuts would just work their way off and the fin would fall off. BTW the turbos float.

I did as Roadrunner suggested and replaced the yolk bolts with 1' ones. I also replaced the nurled nuts with nylock nuts and washers. Pedaling for hours yesterday with no loosinging of the fins. Problem solved,

See http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewt ... highlight= for the whole discussion.

easy tip:
when you cant find Loctite, use a drop of ladies nail polish. Works just as well and you can ALWAYS find that stuff.

Hell, use mens nail polish if prefer. I suspect it works just as well.

Thanks for the link and advice. I live in The Castro in San Francisco; men's nail polish may be more plentiful.
